B.P. Koirala Institute of Health Sciences (BPKIHS) is a Nepalese autonomous health sciences university established on Jan 18, 1993, which was upgraded as an autonomous Health Sciences University on Oct 28, 1998. It is a Nepal-India cooperation based institution situated in Dharan in Sunsari District.

Fee Structure
Fee is comparatively high compared to TU and KU affiliated medical colleges.

1. Heavily subsidized tuitions fee scheme (HSTFS)-About 4 lakh NRs.(Rs.7000 per month)

2. Partially subsidized tuition Fee Scheme (PSTFS)-About 38 lakhs

3. International tuition Fee Scheme-Nepalese candidates cannot apply for this scheme (Total of $65,000)

Selection Procedure

Selection process is strictly based on Merit list for all available schemes.

Candidates are to solve a Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) based paper on entrance exam. There is no negative marking on wrong answer. Duration of entrance exam is 3 hours.

The full marks is 200.There are altogether 200 MCQs. Marks allocated for different subject is as shown:

  1. Physics 50

  2. Chemistry-50

  3. Zoology-25

  4. Botany- 25

  5. English, Introduction to Health, Aptitude for Medical/Dental and General Knowledge-50

Eligibility criteria:

Candidate must have:
  • passed class XII examination of the 10+2 system or NEB system or A Level or equivalent level with Biology, Physics, Chemistry and English as their major subjects

  • obtained at least 50% marks each in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and also 50% marks in aggregate or at least 2.4 GPA in aggregate and minimum C+ in Biology, Physics and Chemistry and minimum C in rest of subjects.

  • must be at least 17 years of age as on 31st December of the entrance exam year

  • NEET qualified(for Indian candidates)

Program Duration

4 and half years plus 1 Year community-oriented  rotatory internship

Nepali Candidate: NRs 4000/-

Indian Candidate: IRs. 4000/-

Foreign Candidates(expect Indian): $100
